Hello again from the great outdoors

So before I get into a story or off on a tangent, let me respond to cjhad and Jeffro who have urged me not to blog buit to relax and enjoy my vacation. This leads me to believe that they and others like them, think posting my blog is a chore or that I am under some horrible sweatshop regime at blogger dot com. Is it lame to admit to you all that this is my favorite thing to do? Atleast oin the top 10 for sure. Things that start with S always rank higher. Shopping, sun, swim, etc. Anyway, moral to the story is chad and jeff both visited the blog and I assume it was to read something I had written or what others wrote. Thus, I am paranoid if I don't keep writing what will people do? Famous julian reads every morning. I can't let him down. And dee dee's coworkers might have to actually work. Lu jhas the same fear... So with that settled I think you all get the point. I BLOG, THEREFORE I AM.

Cole,
Ok, as long as you're recharging yourself on this break. I guess sometimes it's just nice to get completely away from what you normally do. But, if blogging is relaxing and fun even on your vacation, then keep the posts coming.

Hey - if you love it, do it! I blogged daily for almost 5 years, but it started to lose some of its luster for me -- but reading your posts always makes me want to do it again!

Have a great trip!

Cole, by all means blog away. I just know that when I am on vacation ,I totally disconnect from my normal routine. I disappear like the witness protection thing. I have a real stressful job and it's the only way I can recharge. I go deep into hiding, sometimes my wife doesn't even know my where -abouts and she's on vacation with me!!
Chad, I have been a Bulls fan since before Jordan and we will not see another one like him ever. LeBron will be a great player but will not be icon like. Why was Jordon so great? Talent, charisma, mentally the toughest, very articulate and marketable. The perfect storm. Nike doesn't grow without Jordan, most people forget this. Chicago Tribune had a great one on one with him the other day and this is what he said about LeBron after everyone said he made "the leap"

On the ascendance of Cleveland and LeBron James:
I think you see some growth. Expectations have been there, the signs have been there. What just transpired was something I felt was needed for the league, was needed for Cleveland, was needed for LeBron. Now the test comes in being consistent and continuing that elevation, and not getting complacent.

On whether James made 'The Leap':
He showed signs. Making "The Leap" is where you do it every single night. It's expected of you, and you do it. That, to me, is "The Leap." Not one game, not two games. It's consistent. Every defense comes in and they focus on you and you still impact the game. I think he's shown signs of that. I think he's going to continue to grow with that. The test is going to come for him to consistently do that every single night, when everybody expects it. And he expects it of himself. But he took a big step in that right direction in this last series. This next series is going to say, "How far do you want to take it?"
As you can see, he has a long way to go. I watched him mail it in for half the season the has a few good games against Detroit and everyone declares him God and starts tithing 10% to him. I like him but again, let's not get carried away.
Whew, sorry so long. Later

Windycity,
Don't worry, I'm not getting carried away. Maybe you thought I was? I wasn't. I'm a very level headed Basketball fan. Hopefully LeBron will continue his path to greatness like he is, we'll all see in time.

One thing's for sure, he's winning more than the other exciting, explosive players out there.

Too bad he might only get one win in the Finals this time around though :(

...Refering to your other comment, as far as LeBron getting to the Finals with the Cavs again. I don't know, I think it's definitely possible. But, in the environment that the league is these days, it's definitely not uncommon for a guy like him to go somewhere else, I almost expect him to...maybe.

I've always asumed that Kobe would end up going somewhere else eventually, but who knows what that crazy guy is going to do?

LeBron getting to the Finals and getting blown away like this reminds me of when Shaq went to the Finals for the first time with Orlando and got swept by the rockets. Of course it took him leaving to go to LA to win three rings in a row then on to Miami to win a fourth one.

So, who knows?

It's just a great sport ;)

...It's funny how you and me have turned this celebrity gossip blog into our own little "sports blog". I guess we're gossiping about "our celebrities" ;)

Later Dude.
