David Letterman Confession

Every scandalous creepy politician should be forced to watch this video at their inauguration.

He took a very bad situation, admitted to it, injected humor, and left the audience with "meh, much ado about nothin'". WOW!

Seriously, I can't believe how elequently he handled this. FACE on, BALLS OUT, Dead on looking at the camera. Seriously, can you imagine if Clinton had just been honest? Or John Edwards? Or the mysterious hiker Governor? Or the New York City gay politician with a wife and kids...OK I have to stop there because I need to do something else today and I think there are limits to the length of a blog...

Could this be a new trend toward honesty? I hope he does not become vilified in the press, offering encouragement for future ethics violators to feel good for owning up to their mistakes. Or hey, here's an idea...do you think these men that can't keep Little Johnny in their pants would start to figure out that Little Johnny escapades eventually make it to YouTube? Seriously.

While I don't condone David Letterman having extra-relationship affairs (because he was not married when this happened, but had been with his partner for 20+ years), I do believe it was consensual, it's not illegal, and it's none of the public's business.

Should he have had the affairs? Well, yes, if he didn't care about the outcome of getting caught, if he felt the embarrassment would be less painful than foregoing a relationship he felt was important. No matter how skewed we view his thinking, this is a morale misstep in the eyes of the majority of Americans eyes, not an illegal one. (It remains to be seen if he gets in trouble for sleeping with staffers for which he had direct control of their careers, which is in fact illegal if the staffer takes him up on sexual harassment charges, which they obviously did not, so he probably didn't. How's that for a run-on sentence?)

So, seriously, this is what fascinates me most about celebrities. No one acts out human drama better than celebs. It's always a great study of human nature. Usually, you can't make shit up as good as what they come up with in real life. Do you agree?

I leave you with these questions to ponder over your lunchtime Dr. Pepper, tuna sandwich and bag 'o Fritos...(one of my favorite combos, and I'll tell you why...the Dr.P is sweet, counteracting the salt of the Fritos. The Fritos are crunchy, counteracting the soggy tuna on bread, and the Tuna? What does it counteract? Having to eat another fucking Turkey sandwich. Back to our regularly scheduled programming....)

Do you think CBS should give David some sort of penalty? A celebrity time-out? Make him interview D listers for a month?

Do you think this should just fade away...

Are you interested in the outcome of the skizzball that was the blackmailer? He's a producer on 48 hours and has been suspended. This was no joke.

For those of you who don't know, he had a relationship with one of Dave's exes, who confided her past, and he decided to use the info...after his girlfriend dumped him, to get out of debt.

According to my morning talkshow radio hosts, Sarah and Vinnie FM 97.5, he could be facing up to 15 years in prison.

Well, this has been a fun Friday, that's for sure.

Book your tickets now for Rio...they won the Olympics in 2016. won't really matter because according to the Mayan calendar, it's all over for us Earthlings in 2012. Run those credit cards up NOW!

Damn the video was taken off. I just think it is wierd that he even has sex....lol! Seriously he looks like the guy on the cover of MAD Magazine.
But like you said if it was consentual who are we to judge? Lots of people do that but celebs get caught all the time.
Sry I haven't posted for a while. Haven't been in a chipper mood for a bit due to life in general. But I will get better.
How is the Yarn Shop doing? We haven't heard any funnies from there yet.

Just to set the record straight it was the govenor of NJ who was gay with the wife and kids. I believe he started his press conference with the words "I am a gay American". The govenor of NY got caught transporting a prostitute over state lines. Then when they appointed the blind lieutenant governor to governor he had to tell us all about his extramarital affairs.

I wish Letterman kept the humor out of confession and why did he keep using the word creepy to describe his affairs. I think his job is safe.

Rumor also has it that John Edwards will be announcing that the baby is his pretty soon.
