What's Up ...What? It's July already?

What the hell? Where is the first 6 months of 2009 go?

First, where the hell did I go? Well, I've been on blog sabbatical, of course. Because I was feeling stale and bored and I had to get over the let down of Idol. I'm not sure Idol can spark it for me anymore. Seriously.

Just got back from Lake Tahoe. Went with the husband unit...and we were crashing at Harvey's Casino because we got a room for 71.00! ha. So we hauled our boat up there to go out on the Lake. We got there on Monday and were sitting in the steak house eating our 9 million dollar salads, when someone walked up to my table and said "Hey! What are you doing here?" and for fuck's sake it was my best friend from Texas A&M. OMG, I was so freaked out. Now, I have seen him like 3 months ago, so it hasn't been that long, but seriously? Of all the places to run into someone...a steakhouse at Harvey's Casino is kind of odd. He lives in like 5 cities, so for him to travel to Lake Tahoe was a rarity alone. He and his partner sat down and joined us for din din and we had Bananas Foster at the table and everything!!!

My husband and I are gambling snobs. In that we don't believe in gambling. It's just weird to us. HOWEVER, I asked G Snob Hub if we could each burn 20.00 just because, and he said sure. (Editorial note: "asking" is a loose term.. I would do it anyway but it was a professional courtesy. I do work bitches and I can spend my money how I want)

So after dinner, which my friend paid for!!! whoo hoo, we went to the penny slots. Yes 1 cent. and burned 5 bucks in 20 secs and went upstairs to bed.

Night #2. Finished dinner at Hard Rock Cafe (whatevs...no other choice really) and went over to another penny slot. Well this time I turned 10 bucks into 20. Whoo Hoo. Cashed in and went to bed

Day #3...travel home day. Shot out of bed at 8:00 am. Knew hubby would take his usual 45 min shower. put hair in ponytail because gambling fever had struck. I had a pennyslot nagging at me in my sleep. So, just as he got up, I said..."see ya', going to get Starbuck and penny slots on way back up until 9:30 when you get out of shower. He gave me the eyeball, said "Oh boy" and laughed.

I TURNED 10 BUCKS INTO 30 BUCKS. Yowzah! I was giddy. GIDDY I TELL YOU. God Forbid I hit it big because I will be in the padded cell of a big house some where. I ran upstairs and right into that bathroom. I said "wipe the fog off the shower door..and slapped that winning slip on it! He laughed his ass off.

I made him call me Winnie (short for Winner) the rest of the day. And I chanted "I'm a winner in life" all day just to make him laugh. It was a 4 hour drive home.

Oh I forgot, just as we pulled out of town, the lady at the border station (where we had to stop for boat inspection) told us..."oh, Hwy 50 is closed for 1 to 4 hours so expect a delay." What the fuck??? We whipped that bad ass 55 foot rig of our in reverse, did a bat turn, and went home via the other side of the lake. yes, that is an extra hour trip but we made it home in 4 hours.

Sorry, not much talking about Michael Jackson today. I'm embarrassed at how we as a country are treating the loss of a human life. A life that brought so much happiness to millions at what appears to be a sacrifice of his own sanity and happiness. I pray his children are not doomed to the same fate. Please let them find some normalcy in their upbringing.

I will say one other thing...I saw Michael Jackson on the Thriller tour at Texas Stadium in Dallas, Texas. He was magnificent, mesmorizing and most assuredly, a memory I will always treasure.

xoxo,

I love to gamble! I make the 2 hour trip to Atlantic City at least twice a year. My game of choice is craps and I've never seen a penny slot machine at any of the casinos I've been to.

I also have seen Michael Jackson when the Jackson 5 did the Victory Tour. They were great! My fear is that Michael's parents are getting up in age (they are freakin old) and would hate to have the children lose there grandparents so soon after there father. It is just a messy situation.

By the way who runs the yarn store when you running around?
